Stop denying your sweet tooth

Jump to Recipe

I can still smell it. The smell of fresh baked apple pies coming form my Grand ma’s kitchen. The thing is I was raised in a family where you didn’t have a meal without a dessert. I would go as far to say you got the side eye look if you said no thanks. Especially if it was a celebration of birthdays.

Some may say genetics play a role in having a sweet tooth and some may say it doesn’t. Who’s right makes no difference to me because what I do know for sure is I have always had a sweet tooth and I guess I always will. However what I don’t want, that comes along with that sweet tooth, is diabetes and other sugar related health issues. I am sure you can agree when I say, I want to be here and heathy as long as possible to see my grand babies grow up, get married and have kids of their own. So the question you may be asking is, what do I do to be healthy and not have to give up all the sweet things?

First can I say I am not willing to give up sweets. But I can make them as healthy as possible and limit them to 2 or 3 times a week. I can sure live with that if it means I get to live longer and feel better while doing it. Ok I thought this would be short be maybe I have more to say than I thought. And nope I am not going to make you sift though every detail of making the recipe, you can mange that. Now on to star of the show.
